The final race in the US GT3 series is this 24 lap event at Road America. I had once again qualified in 2nd place so I had a good chance to get a jump on the field at the start.
Being the main race it features a compulsory pit stop for tyre changes but the rules do not allow re-fuelling during any of the races. I once again ran with soft compound tyres which lasted well in the earlier sprint race.
My chances of winning the title were pretty slim after race 1 and would require a win, combined with disaster befalling my nearest rival in one of the Aston Martins so the plan was simply to go out and do the best I could. As it turned out, the Mercedes drivers who had been strong throughout the meeting were once again the cars to beat but for the first time the Bentley was also putting in a strong challenge.
